Maliven is an independent marketplace for adult fiction. Authors set their own prices, keep 70% of every sale, and publish without content restrictions on legal fiction. No exclusivity. No content scanning. No algorithm deciding whether your work deserves to be seen.
If you've been burned by platforms that dungeon your books, freeze your royalties, or ban your account over fiction they find uncomfortable, this page explains how Maliven works differently and why.
Royalties
You keep 70% of every sale, and 75% while you have at least one live free title. That split is fixed, published, and permanent. It applies to every book at every price point. There is no delivery fee, no tiered structure based on pricing, and no adjustment based on how many other authors are on the platform.
For comparison: the big retail platforms pay their headline royalty only inside a narrow price band, minus per-megabyte delivery fees, and roughly half that rate outside it. Aggregators take their cut on top of each downstream store's cut, leaving the effective author royalty around 58-60%. Names and numbers, side by side, live on the comparison page.
On Maliven, if you price a short at $0.99 or a novel at $12.99, you earn 70% either way. The math is simple because it should be.
How Payments Work
Payouts are made in Bitcoin (BTC) to a wallet address you control, or in plain USD by Zelle, Cash App, or a mailed check. Once your available earnings reach the 1,000-shard ($10) minimum, you can request a payout from the Earnings page, and we send it by whichever method you chose. There is no processor, no bank, and no intermediary that can freeze your earnings or decide your fiction is unacceptable.
This matters because payment processors have a long history of pressuring platforms to remove adult content. Storefronts elsewhere have been nearly shut down over fiction categories a processor found objectionable, and card networks have forced platforms to scrub entire genres overnight. By running payouts on infrastructure we control, that lever simply doesn't exist for us.
If you don't already have a Bitcoin wallet, any reputable self-custody wallet works. Setting up an address and pasting it into your Maliven settings takes about two minutes, and we have step-by-step guides for the common apps. Prefer plain dollars with no crypto step? Manual USD payouts (Zelle, Cash App, or a mailed check) are available too: set either method in Settings and request payouts once you cross the $10 minimum.
Content Policy
All legal fiction is welcome on Maliven. That sentence is the entire content policy in spirit, but here's what it means in practice.
Fiction is untouchable. No story you publish on Maliven can result in a warning, a suspension, or a ban. Your fiction cannot be removed because someone found it offensive, because a category made someone uncomfortable, or because a content reviewer decided your work crossed a subjective line. Taboo, monster, mind control, incest, noncon, dubcon, horror erotica, breeding, transformation, harem: these are categories here, not violations.
We don't scan your uploads. There is no automated system reading your manuscripts and flagging keywords. There is no AI detection running on your stories. There is no content review queue where a moderator decides whether your fiction is acceptable. You upload, you publish. Your work goes live.
We operate on a trust model. We assume good faith. If a reader reports a specific concern about a piece of content, we investigate. If no one reports anything, no one is looking. We don't go searching for problems in your catalog. This is the same approach the internet's largest fan-fiction archive has used successfully for over fifteen years: trust authors to tag honestly, trust readers to filter what they want, and only intervene when someone raises a legitimate issue.
There is no retailer above us. Nobody reads your book before it goes live and nobody approves your theme, and just as important, there is no store downstream that can decline your book after we've said yes. Elsewhere, a platform accepts a book and a store downstream quietly declines it, and the author finds out when the sales don't appear. That layer does not exist here.
Volume is welcome. Six books in a day is fine. There is no cap, no quality bar, and no ranking penalty. Publishing a lot has no effect on your placement, search visibility, or shelf position.
Conduct rules are about behavior, not fiction. They cover things like spam uploads, account sharing, and deliberate mistagging. There is no strike counter here: if something is wrong, we tell you, in plain language, by a person, with a chance to fix it. If it keeps happening after that, we say plainly that continuing will close the account. Cover images follow one hard rule with three plainly stated outcomes. The full detail lives on the content policy page.
What will never put your account at risk: anything you wrote in a story.
Author Profiles
Every author on Maliven gets a real profile page. Your bio, your pronouns, your avatar, and dedicated link fields for everywhere else you exist online:
- Personal website
- Your own store
- Membership and tip pages
- Your author pages on other platforms
- Twitter / X
- Bluesky
- Tumblr
- Your fan-fiction archive profile
All of these are visible on your public author page. When readers discover your work on Maliven, they can find you everywhere else with one click. We don't hide your links. We don't bury them in settings. We don't make you fight the platform to connect with the people who love your writing.
Your readers are yours. Every tool we build is designed to make that relationship stronger, not to siphon it off for ourselves.
No Exclusivity
You can sell the same work on Maliven, on every other platform, on your own website, and anywhere else you want. Simultaneously. Forever. We will never ask you to remove your books from other platforms as a condition of publishing here.
This is the opposite of the exclusivity programs elsewhere, where enrollment locks your book into 90-day windows that auto-renew unless you manually opt out. On Maliven, your distribution decisions are yours. We compete for your catalog by being a good platform, not by locking you in.
AI Policy
Maliven is tool-agnostic. If you write with AI assistance, you're welcome. If you write entirely by hand, you're welcome. If you use speech-to-text, a ghostwriter, or a ouija board, you're welcome.
When you upload a book, there's an optional AI disclosure field. You can indicate whether AI tools were used in the writing process. This disclosure is visible to readers on the book's page. We include it because we believe in transparency, and because readers appreciate knowing. But it's optional, and no enforcement action is ever taken based on how a story was created.
