1. What we collect
To run your account we store: your email address, username, and password hash; your purchase history and wallet transactions; and your reading progress (so your place in a book is kept). Authors additionally have payout details they choose to provide. We collect engagement signals (page views, sample opens) tied to an anonymous first-party cookie to improve recommendations.
2. What we never do
We do not sell your data. We do not share your reading history, purchase history, or identity with advertisers or data brokers. There is no third-party ad tracking on Maliven.
3. Cookies and sessions
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and a first-party anonymous identifier for on-site analytics. No cross-site tracking cookies are set. Payment providers you choose to use (e.g. for buying shards) have their own privacy policies.
4. Emails
Transactional email (password resets, purchase issues) is always on. Marketing email (newsletters, author updates) is opt-in and every message contains a working unsubscribe link.
5. Deletion and access requests
Email malivenbooks@proton.me from your account email to request a copy of your data or deletion of your account. We respond to valid requests within 72 hours.
