Content Policy
Fiction is untouchable
All legal fiction is welcome on Maliven. Stories cannot be removed because someone found them offensive or because a content reviewer made a subjective call. We do not police fiction — adults are capable of deciding what they read. We remove only content that crosses into real harm, never content that makes someone uncomfortable.
How review works (it doesn't)
Maliven follows an AO3-inspired trust model: there is no automated content scanning and no manuscript review queue. Publishing is instant. Strikes apply only to behavioral violations — plagiarism, uploading work you don’t hold rights to, credential abuse, circumventing access controls — never to the fiction itself.
The hard lines
Everything on Maliven is fiction between imaginary adults, by adults, for adults:
- All readers and authors must be 18+.
- All content is fiction and does not depict or represent real events or real persons.
- Content that is illegal to publish or that involves real people or real harm is not fiction and is not welcome. This is the only content line, and it is not a matter of taste.
- Work must be yours to sell — publishing content you don’t hold rights to is a behavioral violation (see DMCA).
Labeling
Authors label their own work: category, tags, content warnings, explicitness, and AI involvement. Honest labeling is how readers find what they want and avoid what they don’t — it is the deal that makes “no gatekeeping” work.
Takedowns
Copyright holders can use the DMCA process. Anything else — questions, concerns, reports of the hard lines above — goes to malivenbooks@proton.me and is read by a human.
