CHAPTER ONE: Claiming Her
Elena adjusted the thin strap of her white silk slip dress as she stood on the private balcony, the warm Caribbean night breeze brushing against her bare shoulders. At 43, she still carried the graceful, petite beauty that had first caught Mark’s eye twenty years ago. She was part American, part Chinese heritage giving her smooth porcelain skin with subtle golden undertones, almond-shaped eyes framed by long lashes, and straight black hair that fell past her shoulders. She was tiny, barely five feet tall, with small A-cup breasts, a flat stomach honed by quiet yoga sessions, and a lovely gentle curve to her hips that flowed into a small, firm backside. “You’re still the most stunning woman in any room, you know that?” he’d said, squeezing her fingers. For a moment, Elena remembered why she had fallen for him: his steady ambition, the way he made her feel protected in the early years, his deep laugh when they were alone. They had walked the promenade deck afterward, admiring the sunset painting the ocean in hues of orange and pink. Mark had pulled her close, ...
