His Dark Feast

Chapter 1: The Confession

Willa knew something had been eating her husband long before he finally told her.

It was in the way Silas watched her when he thought she wasn't looking — not the way a man watches his wife, but the way a starving animal watches something it has decided not to kill. He was thirty-three, broad-shouldered and quiet, with hands that could fix a carburetor or hold her face like she was made of glass, and for six years of marriage Willa had told herself that the darkness in him was just the ordinary darkness men carry. She was twenty-eight, five years his junior — his younger wife in every way that mattered — and she had never once been afraid of him. Until tonight. And even now, the fear tasted like want. Stress. Temper. The past.

That night, he told her the truth.

They were in the kitchen of their little house at the edge of the woods, the overhead light too bright, the remains of dinner between them. Willa wore his old t-shirt and black lace boy-shorts, her dark-purple hair piled up carelessly, her lipstick long since kissed away. She had been laughing at something — she couldn't remember what, later — when she looked up and saw his face, and the laugh died in her throat.

"Silas?"

He didn't answer at first. His hands were flat on the table, fingers spread, and she saw they were shaking.

"I need to tell you what I am," he said.

Willa went still. In six years, through every fight and every dark night and every slow Sunday morning, he had never once looked at her like this — like a man standing at the edge of a cliff with his wife's hand in his, deciding whether to jump.

"You're scaring me," she whispered.

"Good." His voice was rough. "You should be a little scared. Willa — I have a hunger. Not a metaphor. Not a craving. A hunger." He lifted his eyes to hers, and they were black with it. "For flesh. For blood. For you."

The kitchen clock ticked. The refrigerator hummed. Willa's heart hammered so hard she was certain he could hear it — and then, with a cold wash of understanding, she realized that he probably could. That he had probably been hearing it for years. That every time she had lain beneath him, flushed and gasping, he had been listening to her pulse like music and holding back something enormous.

"Have you —" Her mouth was dry. "Have you ever hurt anyone?"

"No." The word came out like a snarl. "Never. I starve it. I have starved it for fifteen years, Willa. I eat rare meat until I want to vomit. I run until my lungs bleed. I hold it down with both hands." He stood so abruptly his chair scraped the tile. "But it's getting worse. And it's you. It's always been you. Your throat when you tilt your head back. Your wrist when you reach for me. I can smell your blood under your skin, and I am so tired of pretending I can't."

Willa should have run. Some sensible, self-preserving woman would have run.

Willa stayed in her chair, and felt something low in her belly uncoil like a waking snake.

"Show me," she said.

Silas stared at her. "What?"

"Show me." She stood, slowly, and came around the table to him. Her hands were steady. She had no idea why her hands were steady. "You think you're a monster, Silas. Fine. Then show your wife the monster."

He caught her wrists — gently, so gently, his thumbs on her pulse points — and she felt his whole body shudder at the contact. Up close, his eyes were wild.

"Willa, if I start —"

"You won't hurt me." She said it with absolute certainty, because she knew him, she knew this man who carried spiders outside instead of crushing them, who cried at their wedding, who held her hair back when she was sick and never once, in six years, raised a hand to her in anger. "You won't. But you need this, and I'm yours, and I'm giving it to you. So take it."

Something broke in his face. He pulled her against him, hard, one hand fisting in her hair, tilting her head back, baring her throat — and Willa gasped, because the possession in it, the sheer claiming force of it, went straight through her like a brand. This was not her gentle husband. This was the thing underneath him. And God help her, she wanted it.

His mouth closed over her throat. Not a kiss. A press of teeth, blunt and deliberate, and she felt the scrape of them, the wet heat of his tongue following, and her knees went weak. He held her up with an arm around her waist like she weighed nothing, and his breathing was ragged against her skin.

"Your pulse," he groaned. "Christ, Willa, your pulse —"

"Take it," she breathed. "Take a taste. I want you to."

He bit her.

It was not deep. It was the barest breaking of the skin, two points of sharp bright pain at the curve of her throat, and then his mouth sealed over the marks and he drank — one pull, two, three — and Willa cried out, because the pain bloomed into pleasure so fast she couldn't tell where one ended and the other began. Her hands clawed at his shoulders. Her body arched into him. She felt him swallow, felt the vibration of a sound torn out of his chest, half growl, half sob.

And she was wet. Soaking. Aching. Her nipples hard under the thin t-shirt, her thighs pressing together, her whole body lit up like a struck match — because her husband was feeding on her, her devoted husband who had starved himself for her for six years, and she had never been so turned on in her life.

He lifted his head. His mouth was red. His eyes were blown black and shining, and there were tears on his face.

"I'm sorry," he rasped. "God, Willa, I'm —"

"Don't you dare." She cupped his face with both hands, thumbs wiping the tears, and licked the blood from his lower lip — her own blood, copper and salt and heat — and moaned at the taste of it. "Don't you dare apologize for wanting me. I've been your wife for six years, Silas. All of you. Not just the safe parts."

He kissed her then, desperate and filthy, blood passing between their mouths, and lifted her onto the kitchen table, scattering the plates. His hands were under the t-shirt, rough on her ribs, and she wrapped her legs around his waist and pulled him in, grinding against the hard length of him through his jeans.

"Say it," he growled against her mouth. "Say you know what I am."

"You're mine," Willa panted. "You're my husband, and you're hungry, and I'm going to feed you. Say you're mine."

"I'm yours." He bit her lower lip, not gently. "I'm yours, and you're mine, and I have been obsessed with the taste of you since the day we met."

She believed him. She had always known, on some level, that his devotion had teeth in it. Their romance had never been a soft one — it had always been dark, dark and hungry and hers, a darkromance written in candlelight and bruises. He had been her lover and her best friend for eight years, her husband for six — and she had never loved him more than in this moment, offering her throat to his hunger.

He stripped the t-shirt off her, and she was bare except the black lace boy-shorts, her breasts heaving, the two small marks on her throat already welling fresh red beads. He stared at her like she was an altar.

"First time," he murmured, almost to himself. "Your first time bleeding for me."

"Make it good," she whispered.

He went to his knees in front of her.

Willa's breath caught. Silas, her proud dominant husband, on his knees between her spread thighs — but there was nothing submissive in it. His hands gripped her thighs hard enough to bruise, spreading her wider, and his eyes never left hers as he hooked his fingers in the lace and tore the boy-shorts clean off her body.

She was bare and dripping for him, and he groaned like a dying man at the sight.

"Look at you," he breathed. "My beautiful goth girl. My wife. All wet for the monster."

"All wet for my husband," she corrected, breathless, and his answering growl vibrated through her as he buried his face between her legs.

His tongue found her clit and Willa screamed. It wasn't gentle. It was hungry — long, flat, devouring strokes, his nose grinding into her, his hands holding her thighs apart when they tried to close. He licked her like he was starving and she was the only meal he'd ever wanted, and when his tongue pushed inside her, delving deep, she sobbed his name.

"Silas — God —"

He pulled back just enough to speak, his chin glistening with her. "You taste like honey and copper. You taste like mine." Then he sealed his mouth over her clit and sucked, hard, and Willa came apart.

The orgasm hit her like a wave, white and roaring, her back arching off the table, her hands fisting in his hair, holding his face to her as she rode it out against his mouth. He didn't let up. He worked her through it, tongue relentless, and when the second wave started building underneath the first, she whimpered.

"Again? I can't —"

"You can." His voice was iron. "You're going to come for me until I say stop. That's what good wives do."

The filthy praise undid her. She came again, harder, crying out, her thighs trembling around his head, and he drank her down like she was communion wine, groaning into her flesh.

When he finally rose, his face was wet with her, his mouth still red with her blood, and he looked like something out of a dark fantasy — beautiful and terrible and entirely hers.

He unbuckled his jeans with shaking hands. His cock sprang free, thick and flushed and leaking, and Willa's mouth watered. Six years, and the sight of him still did that to her.

"On the table," he ordered. "On your back. Legs up."

She obeyed instantly — she had always obeyed him, had always loved obeying him, the clean simple rightness of his domination and her submission — and he pushed into her in one long stroke, filling her to the hilt, and they both groaned.

"So tight," he gritted out, holding himself deep. "So wet. You like feeding the monster, don't you, wife?"

"Yes," she gasped, as he started to move, hard and deep, the table rocking under them. "Yes, yes, God, yes —"

He fucked her like a man possessed, one hand gripping her hip, the other sliding up to wrap around her throat — not squeezing, just holding, feeling her pulse hammer under his palm as he drove into her. His eyes were fixed on the marks he'd left on her neck.

"Mine," he growled, each thrust punctuating the word. "Mine. Mine. Mine."

"Yours," Willa sobbed. "I'm yours, I'm yours, come in me, Silas, please —"

He came with a roar, burying himself to the root, pulsing deep inside her, filling her with his heat — and the feel of it, the claiming flood of it, tipped her over the edge again, her walls clenching around him, milking him, and she screamed his name into the bright kitchen.

They lay tangled on the table afterward, breathing hard, his forehead pressed to hers, his thumb stroking the marks on her throat with something like reverence.

"I don't deserve you," he whispered.

"You're stuck with me," Willa said, and kissed the blood from the corner of his mouth. "Forever. All of you. Even the hungry parts. Especially the hungry parts."

He held her tighter. Outside, the woods pressed dark against the windows.

"Willa," he said quietly. "That was nothing. A taste. If you really want this — if you really want all of me — there's a ritual. An old one. Candles, and a blade, and rules. It's how I was taught to feed without killing."

Her blood sang. "Teach me."

He looked at her for a long moment, and the hunger moved behind his eyes like something surfacing from deep water.

"Tomorrow night," he said. "Wear the black dress. The one with the laces. And Willa — eat well tomorrow. You'll need your strength."

She shivered, delighted and terrified in equal measure, and pressed her marked throat to his lips.

"I'll be ready," she promised.

But as he carried her to bed, her blood still drying on his mouth, Willa couldn't stop thinking about the way he'd said ritual — like a prayer, like a threat — and she knew, with the bone-deep certainty of a woman who has just offered herself to something ancient, that tomorrow night would change everything.

Chapter 2: First Taste

Willa spent the whole next day in a state of suspended, humming arousal.

She ate the big lunch Silas made her — steak, rare, the way he always cooked it now that she thought about it — and let him fuss over her, pressing a glass of orange juice into her hands, checking the fading marks on her throat with a tenderness that made her chest ache. He was gentle all day. Attentive. Her devoted husband.

But underneath it, she could feel him watching. Counting down.

By dusk, her nerves were strung so tight she could barely sit still. She showered slowly, shaved everything smooth, painted her lips black and lined her eyes in thick kohl — her goth-girl armor — and pulled on the black dress. The one with the laces. It laced up the front from throat to navel, the laces crisscrossing over bare skin, and she'd worn it exactly once before, on a night she still thought about with her hand between her legs.

No underwear. He'd told her once, years ago, that the dress didn't deserve any.

When she came downstairs, Silas was waiting in the living room, and Willa stopped dead on the bottom step.

He had transformed the room.

Every lamp was off. Dozens of candles burned on every surface — black candles, red candles, their flames swaying in the still air. The rug had been rolled back, and in the center of the floor lay a dark red blanket, and on the blanket, arranged with terrible care: a folded black towel. A small silver bowl. A bottle of wine, already open. And a knife.

Not a kitchen knife. A ritual blade, slim and wicked, with a dark wooden handle and an edge that caught the candlelight like a promise.

Willa's mouth went dry. Her heart started to pound.

"Come here," Silas said.

He stood by the fireplace in black pants and a black shirt with the sleeves rolled to the elbows, his forearms corded and bare. He looked like a dark priest. Like something out of the old stories. Her husband, and not her husband, and both at once.

She went to him on unsteady legs. He took her hands, turned them over, pressed his thumbs to her wrists where her pulse jumped.

"Rules," he said quietly. "This is how it works, Willa. You need to hear them, and you need to mean it when you agree."

"Tell me."

"One: the blade never goes deep. Shallow cuts only — the skin of the thigh, the hip, where the blood wells but doesn't run. I know exactly how deep. I've practiced on myself for years." He showed her his forearm, and in the candlelight she saw what she'd never noticed before — a latticework of thin white scars, old and precise. Her breath caught. "Two: you can stop this at any time. The word is 'candle.' You say it, everything stops, I hold you, we go to bed. No questions, no disappointment."

"Candle," she repeated, and filed it away, and knew with sudden clarity she would never use it.

"Three: I feed first. The hunger has to be answered before I can be gentle, and I won't be gentle tonight." His eyes burned into hers. "Four: you are my wife. This is a sacrament. What we do on that blanket doesn't leave this room, doesn't touch the rest of our lives. Out there, I'm your husband. In here —" his voice dropped — "in here I'm your god, and you're my offering."

Willa's whole body was trembling. Not with fear. With want, so deep it felt like drowning.

"I agree," she whispered. "All of it. I'm yours, Silas. Feed."

He smiled, slow and dark, and untied the top lace of her dress.

He unlaced her with excruciating patience, each crossing loosened one by one, the dress falling open inch by inch until it slid off her shoulders and pooled at her feet. She stood naked in the candlelight, black lipstick and kohl and nothing else, her nipples peaked in the cool air, her marked throat bared to him.

Silas circled her slowly. She felt his gaze like hands — on her breasts, her belly, the dark triangle between her thighs, the curve of her ass. When he came back around to face her, his breathing was harsh.

"Kneel," he said.

Willa sank to her knees on the blanket. The submission settled over her like warm water — this was where she belonged, at his feet, offered up. He was her husband, her dominant, her whole world, and kneeling for him had always been the most natural thing in the world.

He knelt behind her, and she felt the first touch of the blade — cold, flat, laid gently against the outside of her thigh.

"Beautiful," he murmured. "My brave girl. My voracious little wife, so wet already I can smell it."

She was. She was dripping, aching, her clit throbbing with every heartbeat.

The blade turned. The edge kissed her skin — a thin, bright line of pain, shallow as a paper cut — and Willa gasped. A bead of blood welled, dark red in the candlelight, and Silas bent and licked it off her thigh with a groan that shook them both.

"Copper and honey," he breathed against her skin. "God, Willa —"

He cut again, a second line parallel to the first, and drank from that one too, his tongue hot and reverent on her thigh. Between cuts he pressed biting kisses to her skin, teeth grazing just hard enough to leave red crescents. The pain was nothing — a whisper, a sting — and the pleasure of his mouth on her, the sheer erotic weight of being consumed, had her clutching the blanket and moaning. It was cunnilingus as sacrament when he moved lower, and Willa was his altar — his oral worship relentless, his tongue delving deep while his thumbs held her open.

"More," she begged. "Please, Silas, more —"

"Greedy girl." But there was worship in his voice. He laid her back on the blanket, spread her thighs, and she watched through heavy-lidded eyes as he set the blade aside and picked up the wine. He poured a thin stream over her belly, and the cold made her arch — then his mouth was on her, licking the wine from her skin, working downward, and she knew where he was going and spread wider for him.

He drank from her pussy like it was the sacrament he'd promised.

His tongue speared into her, deep and hungry, and Willa screamed. He lapped at her folds, sucked her clit between his lips, fucked her with his tongue while his thumbs held her open — and all the while, his free hand found the shallow cuts on her thigh and pressed, gently, making the blood well fresh, and the mingled taste of her blood and her arousal seemed to drive him wild. He growled into her flesh, the vibration tearing another cry from her throat.

"Come for me," he ordered, his voice muffled against her. "Let me taste you come."

She did — violently, her back bowing off the blanket, her hands fisting in his hair, her thighs clamping around his head as the orgasm tore through her. He held her through it, tongue never stopping, and when she tried to push him away, oversensitive and sobbing, he caught her wrists and pinned them to the blanket.

"I didn't say stop."

He lowered his mouth again, and Willa wailed. The second orgasm built on the ruins of the first, sharper, almost painful in its intensity, and when it broke she screamed his name to the candlelit ceiling, her whole body convulsing. He drank her down, every drop, groaning like a man at a feast.

"Multiple," he panted, lifting his glistening face. "You're going to give me multiples tonight, wife. That's the ritual. I feed on your pleasure too."

"I can't —"

"You can." He stood, unbuckling his belt, and her eyes fixed on him, on the thick hard length springing free. "On your knees. I want your mouth."

Willa scrambled to obey, kneeling before him, and took him between her lips with a moan of devotion. He was heavy on her tongue, salt and heat, and she hollowed her cheeks and sucked, her hands gripping his thighs. His fingers threaded into her purple-black hair, guiding but not forcing — not yet.

"That's it," he groaned. "Such a good girl. Such a good little cocksucker for her husband."

The dirty talk went straight to her clit. She took him deeper, relaxing her throat the way she'd learned over six years of marriage, and felt him slide into the tight channel of her throat. Deepthroat. His whole body jerked.

"Fuck — Willa —"

She held him there, nose pressed to his groin, throat working around him, and the power of it — this strong, dark, hungry man coming undone in her mouth — made her moan around his length. The vibration made him curse.

He pulled back, breathing hard, and gripped her hair. "My turn to be rough. Open."

She opened. He thrust into her mouth, deep, setting a brutal rhythm, his cock hitting the back of her throat again and again, and Willa surrendered to it completely — to being used, to being his, tears streaming from her eyes, drool on her chin, and she had never felt so worshipped. He was fucking her face like he owned it. He did own it. He owned all of her.

"Swallow," he growled. "Every drop."

He came hard, pulsing down her throat, and she swallowed and swallowed, moaning, her own hand slipping between her legs to rub her aching clit. He saw, and his eyes flared.

"Did I say you could touch yourself?"

"No," she whimpered around his softening cock.

"Then don't." He pulled her to her feet, spun her, bent her over the low altar of the blanket — and she felt the blunt head of him at her entrance, soaked with her saliva and his spend. "I'm going to fuck you now, wife. Rough. The way the hunger wants."

"Yes," she breathed. "Please, yes —"

He slammed into her. Willa screamed — it was so much, so deep, so sudden — and he set a punishing pace, his hips slapping against her ass, his hand fisting her hair, pulling her head back so he could growl in her ear.

"Whose pussy is this?"

"Yours!" she cried. "Yours, Silas, yours —"

"Who do you belong to?"

"You! Only you! Forever!"

He reached around, fingers finding her clit, rubbing hard in time with his thrusts, and the dual assault broke her. She came with a scream, clenching around him, and he roared and followed, pumping deep, filling her — a creampie, hot and claiming, sealing the ritual.

They collapsed onto the blanket in a tangle of limbs, breathing like they'd run a marathon. Silas pulled her against his chest, and for a long while there was only the candles and the beating of two hearts.

Then, gently, he took the black towel and the silver bowl, and cleaned her cuts with warm water from a basin she hadn't noticed. The cuts were already closing — shallow, precise, exactly as promised. He pressed soft kisses to each one.

"Aftercare," he murmured. "The ritual isn't done until you're cared for." He wrapped her in the blanket, poured her wine, held the glass to her lips. "Drink. Eat the bread I left on the table. Then sleep in my arms."

Willa drank, tears slipping down her face — not ...
