Katy's Son

547 words·3 min read

We descended the stairs together, the sound of our footsteps dulled by the thick carpeting that covered the top half of the staircase but gave way to bare wood and cement as we neared the bottom. I let him go first, my hands light on his shoulders, guiding but never quite gentle. The air grew cooler with each step, the scent shifting from the faint antiseptic of the main house to a denser mixture of old stone, metal, and something that was almost, but not quite, ozone. He was already nervous, I could see it in the way his back tensed beneath my hand, his spine a drawn bowstring.

The basement had always been my project. When I bought the house, the previous owners had used it as a wine cellar. It was full of dusty racks and empty bottles, boxes that once held expensive vintages. I gutted the whole thing, left the stone walls exposed and spent hours sealing every crack myself, then brought in the hardware: the overhead rings set into the beams, the steel fixtures at wrist and ankle height, the racks and racks of implements, each lovingly oiled and labeled. I crossed my arms, letting the black leather stretch tight across my chest and biceps, emphasizing the size difference between us. He started with his shoes, setting them neatly by the stairs, then peeled his t-shirt off over his head. Goosebumps bloomed across his skin as soon as the cold air hit him. He was already hard; I saw how he tried to angle his hips, minimize it. I smiled, just a little, and waited.

His fingers fumbled with the button on his jeans, but eventually got them off, then his boxers, leaving them in a neat pile. I liked the neatness. It said something about him, that he still thought this was a performance and not a forfeiture. By the time he was naked, his cock stood out from his body at a shameless angle, but he kept his eyes fixed on the floor.

“Look at me,” I said.

He did. His pupils were blown wide, his cheeks blotched with a high flush. I could almost feel the throb of his pulse from where I stood. And I wanted him to know it was visible. To know I was appraising him as if he were a side of beef hung up for display.

“Arms out,” I said, and he obeyed, stretching them sideways. He did it with more discipline than I expected, fingers splayed, back straight. I retrieved the cuffs from the wall, thick black leather, padded, with steel D-rings. I fastened them to his wrists one at a time, pulling the straps tight enough that they bit, then clipped them to ...
