Reincarnated as a Young Noble in a Free World Part 1
Reincarnated as a Young Noble in a Free World Part 1
Second Life
Arka had forgotten the last time he slept properly.
On his desk sat several empty coffee cups, instant noodle wrappers, and a stack of documents that seemed to never shrink.
The computer monitor in front of him displayed 02:47 AM.
“Still not finished...”
Arka rubbed his face.
His eyes felt heavy. His head had been throbbing for hours, but the work still had to be done.
He had been coming home late for days.
Sometimes not even coming home at all.
As a developer at a company rushing a major deadline, Arka was used to overtime. At first, it was just a few hours.
Then it became every night.
Then it became something considered normal.
“Just a little more...”
His hands moved across the keyboard again.
One line of code.
Then another.
His vision began to blur.
Arka stopped.
He tried to take a deep breath.
“Why... does my body feel so heavy?”
His hands suddenly lost their strength.
His head slumped onto the desk.
Thud.
The monitor in front of him was still lit.
The cursor blinked on the screen.
Arka no longer noticed it.
His consciousness slowly faded away.
No sound.
No light.
No pain.
Only darkness.
---
When Arka opened his eyes again—
“...Where is this?”
A white ceiling greeted his gaze.
Not an office ceiling.
Nor his apartment bedroom.
The room was much larger.
His bed had wooden posts decorated with intricate carvings. Long dark blue curtains hung on the sides of the window. The furniture in the room looked expensive, even too luxurious for anything he had ever owned.
Arka blinked several times.
“Am I... still alive?”
He tried to get up.
His body felt strange.
Lighter.
Fitter.
There was no soreness from sitting in front of a computer for hours.
No headache.
No exhaustion.
Arka raised both of his hands.
His hands were no longer the hands he saw every day.
“What the hell is this?”
He got out of bed and walked toward the large mirror in the corner of the room.
As soon as he saw his reflection, his steps stopped.
A young man stared back at him.
Black hair.
Dark eyes.
A handsome face with facial features much younger and healthier than Arka’s previous face.
Arka touched his cheek.
The reflection did the same.
“This is not me.”
His heart began to beat fast.
He checked his body.
No wounds.
No accident scars.
No medical equipment.
Everything looked normal.
Yet this body was clearly not his.
Suddenly—
Knock. Knock. Knock.
The sound of knocking came from the door.
Arka instantly turned his head.
“Young Master?”
A woman’s voice was heard from outside.
“Are you awake?”
Arka fell silent.
Young Master?
Before he could answer, the door opened slowly.
A maid entered with her head bowed.
“Good morning, Young Master Liam.”
Arka froze.
Liam?
The maid walked closer.
“Does your body still feel uncomfortable?”
“...Liam?”
The maid looked confused.
“Yes, Young Master.”
Arka held his head.
Unfamiliar information began to surface in his mind.
Name.
Place.
Family.
Life.
Everything felt like memories that didn’t belong to him.
Liam.
A young noble from a respected family.
He lived in a massive mansion with his family.
And most shockingly—
Arka was now truly inhabiting Liam’s body.
Not a baby.
Not a newborn body.
He instantly became a fully grown Liam.
“So... I died?”
The maid looked confused again.
“Young Master?”
Arka did not answer.
He walked toward the window.
When the curtains were pulled back, the scenery outside left him speechless.
A vast garden stretched out in front of the mansion.
Servants walked around carrying various items.
Several knights were seen training in the distance.
And outside the mansion fence, stone roads were visible that could never be found in the city where Arka previously lived.
“This...”
Arka swallowed hard.
“Not a world I know.”
---
A few minutes later, the door opened again.
This time the atmosphere was different.
The previous maid immediately bowed her head.
“Lady Amelia.”
Arka turned.
A woman entered the room.
Arka fell silent.
The woman possessed a beauty that was hard to describe.
Her face looked very young, around her early to mid-twenties. Her skin was clean and soft, with long golden-blonde hair falling in gentle waves down near her waist.
A pair of sapphire blue eyes stared gently at Arka.
She wore an ivory-white noble gown blended with light blue. Thin gold embroidery adorned her collar and sleeves. A small necklace with a sparkling gemstone graced her neck.
Not excessive.
Not flashy.
Yet her overall appearance gave an elegant and enchanting impression.
For a moment Arka thought the woman was a young noble lady coming for a visit.
Then the woman smiled.
“Liam.”
Her voice was soft.
“You’re awake.”
Arka stared at her.
There was something in the woman’s gaze.
Familiarity.
Worry.
Affection.
“...Who are you?”
The woman stopped.
Her smile slowly turned into an expression of surprise.
“Liam?”
Arka realized his question sounded strange.
Yet he truly had no idea how to act.
The woman walked closer.
She raised her hand and touched Arka’s forehead.
“Your fever has gone down.”
Arka remained silent.
The woman then smiled faintly.
“I am your mother.”
His mother?
Arka looked at the woman from top to bottom.
Impossible.
This woman looked like someone in her early twenties.
Yet Liam’s vague memories began to answer that question.
Amelia.
His mother.
A noblewoman famous for her beauty.
Someone who deeply cherished Liam.
Arka took a slow breath.
“Amelia...”
The woman smiled.
“Yes.”
She sat beside the bed.
“What’s wrong? You look like you just saw something terrifying.”
Arka didn’t know what to reply.
Should he tell her that her real son was dead?
Should he say that the soul of a man from another world was now inside Liam’s body?
Of course not.
“It’s nothing.”
Arka finally answered.
“I’m just... still a bit confused.”
Amelia watched him for a few moments.
Then she smiled softly.
“Rest. You don’t need to think about anything today.”
Arka fell silent once more.
That simple sentence reminded him of his old life.
Rest.
A word he almost never heard while working.
In his old world, there was always the next task.
The next deadline.
The next problem.
It never ended.
And now—
He had a second chance.
Arka looked out the window.
An unfamiliar world stretched out widely before him.
Maybe this was another world.
Maybe a fantasy world.
Maybe there was magic.
Maybe there were monsters.
Maybe there were kingdoms.
He didn’t know.
But for the first time in a long while—
Arka smiled.
“If I really got a second life...”
He clenched his fists.
“...I won’t repeat the same mistakes.”
No more overtime until death.
No more living just for work.
No more wasting an entire life on something he couldn’t even enjoy.
If this world gave him a second chance—
Then this time, he would live for himself.
Enjoying life.
Seeing the world.
Trying things he could never do before.
And if this world truly had magic and monsters like those in his memories—
Arka smiled even wider.
“Interesting.”
Amelia looked at her son in wonder.
“Liam?”
Arka turned to her.
For the first time, he smiled at the woman who was now his mother.
“It’s nothing, Mother.”
Amelia returned his smile.
Yet deep inside Arka’s heart, a single decision had been made.
My old life is over.
Starting today, I will live as Liam.
And without Arka realizing it—
that simple decision would become the beginning of a life far greater than anything he could have ever imagined.
That morning felt too quiet.
Liam sat on the edge of the bed, still trying to adjust to his new body. Every movement ...
