  1. Prologue

The garden held the heat like a closed fist.

Ethan knelt on the sun-warmed stone, the short black skirt rucked high around his hips, the thin apron strings pressed into the small of his back where they had been tied with deliberate neatness. Claire sat above him on the edge of the lounge chair, one bare foot resting lightly along the inner muscle of his thigh, the other planted firm. Her hand moved in unhurried strokes the full length of him—palm gliding, fingers closing just enough to make the skin pull taut, then easing so the wetness already gathered at the tip could slick the next pass. Never faster. Never enough.

Behind him Elena worked in silence. Two fingers, slick and insistent, turned inside the heat of him with slow, searching curls. Each time Claire’s fist tightened hard at the base and stilled, Ethan’s spine softened in a visible wave; Elena watched it happen and pressed deeper, as though cataloguing the exact moment the resistance left his body.

A low sound lived in his throat and stayed there. He no longer shaped it into words. Claire’s voice came quiet, almost conversational, the same tone she used when correcting the way he folded the laundry.

“Still so eager to pay.”

Her thumb swept once across the head, spreading the clear fluid that had beaded and spilled, then returned to the measured rhythm. The foot on his thigh pressed a fraction harder, not quite pain, just ownership. Elena added a third finger without pause; the stretch forced a sharper breath from him, wet and open. Claire felt the twitch travel through his cock and answered it by stopping again, holding him throbbing and denied while the afternoon light moved across the water.

He kept his eyes open because that had become the rule, and because looking away would have been a smaller surrender than the one already taking place. The month was nearly spent. Somewhere beneath the ache and the careful emptiness of his mind, a quieter knowledge had settled: when the weight of her hand finally lifted for the last time, the absence would feel like a new kind of hunger.

Claire’s fingers resumed their slow travel. Elena’s turned inside him in the same unhurried cadence. The garden remained still except for the soft, wet sounds of what they were doing to him and the single, continuous tremor that never quite left his throat.

  1. Chapter 1 – Arrival

The car turned onto the quiet street and slowed. Ethan watched the high hedges rise on either side, then the gate, then the long pale house beyond it. The driver said nothing when he stepped out. The door closed behind him with a soft, final sound.

Claire stood in the open doorway already. She wore a simple linen dress the color of dry sand, hair cropped close and silver-white against the light. Her smile arrived exactly on time—polite, measured, never reaching the eyes. Those remained cool and assessing, as though she were confirming the shape of something she had already decided to dislike.

“Ethan. Come in.”

Elena appeared a half-step behind her mother. Dark hair pulled back, expression composed, gaze steady and quietly curious. She offered her hand. The touch was brief, dry, and somehow more deliberate than courtesy required.

Inside, the air was cooler and carried the faint scent of citrus and clean stone. Claire led him through the main room where wide glass doors stood open to the garden. Beyond them the pool lay still and brilliant, a hard blue rectangle cut into the green. Ethan’s suitcase wheels whispered across the floor.

“The guest room is ready,” Claire said. “Second door on the left. You’ll find everything you need.”

She did not offer to show him. Elena watched him pass, head tilted a fraction, as if noting the way he carried himself in their space. No one mentioned the length of the stay. No one spoke of rules. The house itself seemed to hold its breath around the three of them, polished surfaces and careful silence already arranging themselves into something heavier than hospitality.

In the guest room the bed was made with military neatness. A single window looked onto the side garden where the hedges stood thick and private. Ethan set the suitcase down and remained standing a moment longer than necessary, feeling the quiet press against his skin. Somewhere deeper in the house a glass was set on a counter. Footsteps moved without hurry.

He unpacked slowly. Shirts. Trousers. The ordinary clothes of a life that already felt distant. When he returned to the main room Claire was seated in a low chair near the open doors, a book open but unread in her lap. Elena stood at the edge of the terrace, looking out at the water. Neither turned at once.

Claire’s voice reached him without volume.

“Dinner will be at seven. You’re free until then.”

The words were perfectly courteous. Beneath them something older and less forgiving waited, patient as the heat still radiating from the stone outside. Ethan nodded. The pool glittered. The house settled around him like a held breath that had no intention of being released.

  1. Chapter 2 – The Empty Afternoon

The house emptied with little ceremony. Claire took her bag, Elena followed, and the front door closed on the soft click of the lock. Silence expanded through the rooms like water finding its level.

Ethan stood for a while in the main space, listening to the residual quiet. Heat pressed against the glass doors. Beyond them the pool lay motionless, its surface a hard, unbroken sheet ...
