The Weight She Keeps: Quiet Lock of Evenings - by Diana Piner
Quiet Lock of Evenings
- Prologue — The Lock That Holds
Elena sat on the library floor with her back against the lowest shelf, the grey sweater pushed above her navel and her jeans open, tugged down only far enough that the denim framed the soft, heavy curve of her hips. Bramble’s weight rested across her bare thigh, the rough coat warm and dense against her skin, his head turned so the broad muzzle lay against the inside of her knee. The knot had already swollen inside her. It filled her completely, a thick, unyielding pressure that locked them together and held her open around the base of him. She felt the slow, steady pulse of his cock against her inner walls, each throb stretching her a fraction further before settling again. Wetness gathered where they were joined and slid in a thin, warm line down the crease of her thigh onto the rug. She did not wipe it away.
Dust turned in the late light from the window. She watched it move across the spines of the books opposite while her free hand rested on the heavy slope of his shoulder. The other hand stayed between her legs, two fingers pressed lightly against the stretched rim of her cunt where the knot sealed her. The pressure there was constant. When she shifted her hips a fraction the lock tugged, sharp and deep, and a low sound left her throat before she could stop it. Bramble’s breathing stayed even. His tongue touched the soft skin of her inner thigh once, then withdrew. The radiator clicked. Somewhere above them a floorboard settled. She stayed exactly as she was, legs spread by his body, the weight of him pinning her in place so that any larger movement would have pulled at the knot and hurt.
Her phone, left on the arm of the sofa, lit and went dark again. She did not reach for it. The pulse inside her continued, slower now, each beat a small, possessive push that made her clench without meaning to. More wetness followed the first line, soaking into the denim still bunched at her thighs. She drew her fingers through it, then pressed them back against the place where he held her, feeling the heat and the slight give of her own flesh around the swollen base. The sensation sat low in her belly and did not crest. It simply remained, heavy and complete. She closed her eyes against the light and let the lock keep her where she was. The quiet of the room settled around the sound of their breathing. She did not move.

Elena answered because the phone was already in her hand. Her mother’s voice listed the restaurant, the hour, a man’s name she did not recognize. Elena said she would see. The words left her mouth the same way they always did, flat and usable. Bramble lay across her feet on the ...
