Look at him again.
He’s a big man. Heavy. Around sixty. Six foot. Two hundred and forty pounds, well carried. Shaved head. Broad face. Thick neck. You can see the hairy chest and the wide belly showing between the open edges of his shirt, the hair covering it down to the navel.
He’s sitting in the leather armchair, settled into it, legs open. The dark jacket hangs loose. The white shirt is unbuttoned almost to the bottom. A gold chain crosses his chest. The medal rests against his skin. Rings on his fingers. In his right hand, the cigar. The smoke rises slowly toward the office ceiling, toward the painting of the ship, toward the green lamp.
He smiles.
You can see the hairy chest, the thick hair running down over the wide belly that shows between the edges of the cloth.
You can see his navel. You can see how the gold chain crosses his torso and how the medal rests against his skin. Rings on his fingers.
In his right hand, the cigar. The smoke rises slowly. The smell of the cigar fills the office.
He smiles.
Look at him.
It isn’t a polite smile. He doesn’t give it so you’ll feel at ease in the office. It’s the smile of a man who knows what he wants and is used to getting it. You can see it in his mouth. You can see it in the way he holds your eyes and doesn’t let go.
He’s measuring you. Seeing whether you can take what he already means to do to you.
Want and vice together, with nothing hidden. He isn’t pretending anything else. Tonight he isn’t going to think about you. He’s here to dominate you.
He looks at you the way a man looks at someone he’s going to use as he likes. Not as a guest. As a body he can empty himself into.
Your mouth. Your ass. Whatever he needs.
Tonight he wants to enjoy himself and finish satisfied, whatever it costs.
For now he only looks at you. Because you still haven’t decided whether you’re staying. And he doesn’t get up. He doesn’t call you over. He doesn’t sweeten a thing. He waits to see what you do.
